About PassATS

PassATS reads the resume file you are actually sending, scores it the way an applicant tracking system would, and names the specific lines to change. It costs $2.99, needs no account, and keeps nothing.

This page explains who runs it, exactly how the score is calculated, and what the report will not claim.

Who runs this

PassATS is a small, independent product operated by Bosphorus Elevate LLC, a company registered in Delaware. It is not backed by a recruiting agency, a job board, or a resume-writing service, so there is nothing to upsell you after the report.

There is no support department. Email reaches the person who built it: support@passats.pro.

How the score is calculated

The score is not a single impression. It is a weighted combination of four components, and the weights are fixed rather than decided per resume:

Adjustments applied on top

These are the specific penalties and bonuses, applied whenever they are true. They are not weighted opinions:

• −20Tabular cell artifacts or pipe-delimited rows that obscure the reading order.
• −15No dedicated Skills section.
• −15Three or more consecutive bullets with no quantified metric.
• −10Date formats inconsistent across sections, such as “Jan 2023” beside “01/2023”.
• −10No LinkedIn URL and no personal site or portfolio.
• −10Each paragraph of abstract buzzwords with no measurable outcome.
• +10Every bullet follows action, what, measurable outcome.
• +5Your summary states total years of experience explicitly.
• +5A readable email address is present.
• +5A portfolio, personal site or GitHub URL alongside LinkedIn.

The final number is clamped to 0–100 on our server, so a malformed result cannot produce a score outside that range.

We read the file, not a copy of it

This is the part that separates PassATS from pasting your resume into a chat assistant or a free text box. Those tools read the text you could select and paste. We open the document itself.

Text is extracted from the PDF or DOCX the same way a parser does it, and what comes out is often not what is on the page. Contact details can fail to survive extraction entirely. Content that sits in separate places on the page can come out interleaved on a single line, in an order no reader would choose. Neither is visible to you, and neither is discoverable by pasting, because pasting starts from the text you could already see.

That is why contact information carries 20% of the score on its own, and why scrambled reading order carries the single largest penalty on the list above. Both are failures of the file, not of your writing, and both are invisible until something opens the file.

It also means we can see text you cannot. Resumes routinely arrive carrying keywords set in 2pt type, or in white on a white background, usually added by a template or a “free ATS optimiser” without telling the candidate. We detect that text, remove it before scoring so it cannot inflate your keyword result, and then flag it, because a recruiter who finds it bins the application.

What the report will not tell you

Some of what makes a score trustworthy is what it refuses to claim. The evaluator is explicitly instructed to avoid all of the following:

• It will not predict that you will pass or fail a specific ATS. Without a job description the verdict is a general role benchmark, not a prophecy about one employer.
• It will not make vendor-specific claims. Nothing in the report asserts what Workday, Greenhouse, Lever or Taleo will do with your file, because that is not observable from your resume.
• It will not comment on your visual layout. We work from extracted text, so the report is limited to what the text shows: section names, reading order, date consistency. Any tool that praises your “clean single-column design” from a parse is guessing.
• It will not invent achievements. Every suggested rewrite has to quote text that is already in your resume. It will never fabricate a metric, a percentage or an outcome for you.
• It will not flatter you. The scoring instructions set hard ceilings: a resume with no Skills section, unquantified bullets and inconsistent dates cannot be scored above 52, however polished it reads.

What happens to your file

Your upload is read into memory and deleted from disk before the response is sent to you, not afterwards on a best-effort basis. There is no account, no database of resumes, and nothing to log into later. Once you close the tab, your report is gone too, so save it.

Your card details never touch this site. Payment goes through Stripe Checkout on Stripe’s own domain, and we only ever see whether a session was paid.
